We trust that you are all safe and healthy. The Club members and Board are working hard to navigate these uncertain times. Below are the answers to some of the questions we have received in the past few days.
- What is our Club doing in response to COVID-19? Taking guidance from various authorities, HBSC
has suspended all activities until further notice as of Friday, March 13, 2020. The Club will keep members
updated as soon as further information is available. We will announce the status of classes four weeks before they are due to start
- When will sailing activities resume for the Club? As a not-for-profit corporation, the health and well-being of our members, staff, and instructors is critical. We will continue to provide updates as these become available.
- How will this impact Club operations? HBSC is mindful of being fair and responsible in its treatment of members and students throughout this period. Many sail related and planning functions will continue within government and public health guidelines.
- Once members pay our membership fees by the May 1 due date, when does the season start? Your annual membership becomes active once we have boats in the water, for a full 12 months. Your club belongs to you and we need your support during these difficult times.
We are continuing to monitor the situation and will be in touch as new developments occur.
